First Baptist Church called me to serve as their pastor in March 2006. My heart and passion is to see our church family make a difference in the lives of people in Beverly Hills and the surrounding communities by leading others to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Because I did not grow up in a family grounded in the Word of God, enjoying a personal relationship with Jesus, many years of my adult life were swallowed up by a sinful lifestyle. Instead, I strived to become a success according to worldly standards, only to find its achievements to be hollow and valueless. I surrendered my life to Jesus in 1994 at the age of 41. Within a few years, I sensed God’s call to commit my life to full-time Gospel ministry with a deep understanding of the struggles many people face in the world today.
My college education was completed at Colorado State University with a B.A. degree in Speech Communication. I graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity, serving in senior adult ministry, jail ministry in the Ft. Worth Youth Detention Center, and as Associate Pastor of Evangelism at Faith Community Church in Ft. Worth, Texas.
I am married to my wife, Judy. We enjoy God’s great creation through motorcycling and have recently joined the River Rider’s chapter of CMA (Christian Motorcyclist’s Association) because of their passion and zeal to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
